Micro-ExP connects students with organizations for professional development, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world work experience.

Partner with us – it’s easy!

By partnering with us, you’re helping students gain valuable skills and insights which significantly impact their career growth.  It’s a short-term commitment (only a few hours over 1 week) with many perks:

  • Customizable to your business needs – remote or in-person, project, or placement
  • Access to top students with fresh perspectives
  • Build your talent pipeline - get a first look at potential candidates and develop your brand as an employer of choice

Our participants are undergraduate and graduate students across all disciplines. They are seeking experiences in areas such as communications, marketing, design, grant writing, engineering, data science, product, research, and more.

We do our best to match students to experiences according to their interests. In most cases our students cannot sign non-disclosure agreements, so some domains may lend themselves better to micro experiences than others.

Project or Placement?

The choice is yours! Partners can host the following options, with 1-4 students per experience:

  1. Micro-Project: 100% remote. Individual or team based, 12 hours maximum per student, unpaid.
  2. Micro-Placement: On-site or hybrid. 10-15 hours maximum per student.

Maximize your return: opt for a team-based project to increase your project’s scope!

What’s Involved?

Participating employers must:

  • Write a project posting(s) including key tasks, deliverables, skills, and number of students requested.
  • Provide a key contact/supervisor.
  • Host a project kick-off meeting: carry out employer/student introductions, review objectives, and provide access to any necessary tools or resources.
  • Host a mid-week check-in meeting (optional).
  • Confirm receipt of deliverables provided by the student(s) at the end of the week and provide feedback.

Employers consistently praise the program for the high-quality work delivered by ˴Ƭ students:

“I appreciated the quick turnaround and limited hours for the project. It's great as small assignments and tasks can be done quickly.”

“Having multiple students and a set of fresh eyes on the project gives depth and allows for great brainstorming. They all came from different backgrounds to tackle the same problem. This is uncommon and helped to see the problem from different angles.”
