About the Prize

The goal of the President’s Prize for Public Engagement through Media is to recognize outstanding achievement among members of the ³ÉÈË´óÆ¬ community who share their knowledge with the media and the public, enhancing the University's reputation. They play a vital role in supporting ³ÉÈË´óÆ¬ University’s commitment to being of service to society and engaging with the broader community.

Prizes will be given out in four categories:

  • Prize for Groups – for groups of undergraduate or graduate students that engage with the external community and/or the media.
  • Prize for Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Fellows – for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are just starting to work with the media and engage with the public.
  • Prize for Emerging Researchers – for those who are less than fifteen yearsÌýbeyond their PhD or other highest degree.
  • Prize for Established Academics – for those who are more than fifteen yearsÌýbeyond their PhD orÌýother highest degree.

The winners in each category will receive a cheque of $5,000.

The deadline to submit your application is December 31, 2025, at midnight. Winners and runners-up will be notified by the end of March 2026.
