• Withdrawing from all your courses in any one term constitutes a university withdrawal.
• It is your responsibility to initiate the withdrawal process; non-attendance at classes does not constitute a University withdrawal.
• You must withdraw from all your courses on by the University established deadlines.
• Permission to withdraw from the University after course withdrawal deadlines may be granted only under exceptional circumstances.
  1. If you wish to request permission to withdraw from the University after course withdrawal deadlines, you will need to submit appropriate documentation with your request for a University withdrawal.
  2. Circumstances which can affect your ability to complete your studies, and which may be a basis to grant a University withdrawal past withdrawal deadlines, include illness, unforeseen financial hardship, or serious family affliction.
• You should contact the Internships & Student Affairs Office to request a withdrawal after the deadline. In your letter include your signature and your student ID number.
• Once you withdraw from the University, your record will be updated to include an official "withdrew from the University" narrative with the date of withdrawal. If you withdraw in the fall term, you are considered withdrawn from the entire academic year and your winter term is deleted.
• If you wish to return to 成人大片 in the future: You must apply for Readmission to the University to the appropriate faculty through the "Student Records Menu" once you have logged into .

Leave of Absence

Undergraduate students in the Faculty of Education who are in Satisfactory standing may request an official Leave of Absence (LOA) for specific, University-approved reasons, such as:

• Maternity or parenting reasons
• Personal or family health reasons
• Professional development
• Required military service

Such leaves of absence must be requested on a term-by-term basis and may be granted for a period of up to 52 weeks.听听

Students who are eligible for Leave of Absence must complete the form听and submit any pertinent supporting documentation听here.

Please note, being approved for a Leave of Absence may have consequences for your student loans, bursaries or any scholarship money you have been assigned. Please inform yourself of the possible implications by consulting with Scholarships & Student Aid on your case. 听

If you are an international student, before applying for an LOA, make sure you first听schedule听an appointment with an Advisor in International Student Services听to discuss the repercussions of going on a Leave of Absence.

The following reasons are听not听grounds for a Leave of Absence:

• personal objectives (travel, time off, volunteering,听etc.)
• employment
• professional development unrelated to studies
• financial matters (need to work more hours to pay for school, etc)
  • If you're in this situation, we encourage you to听schedule a Budget & Debt Management appointment听with one of the Scholarships and Student Aid Office's Financial Aid Counsellors, who will try to work with you听to see what can be arranged so you听can remain at 成人大片 with reduced financial barriers.

If you are not eligible for Leave of Absence, you may withdraw from the University. Students in satisfactory standing are eligible to听request readmission听to the Faculty of Education with no penalty.

How Leave of Absence Works

The mention 鈥淟eave of Absence鈥� will be recorded on your transcript for each semester it is requested. If Leave of Absence is granted after the term has started,听any courses will be removed from your record. 听No tuition fees will be charged for the duration of the authorized leave. 听During a leave of absence you maintain an active student ID card and will have access to 成人大片 email and use of the libraries.听You are not permitted to register for courses or to participate in student internships or undergraduate research.听You shall not normally attend another academic institution (exceptions may be requested for professional development).听

Deadline to Apply

An official Leave of Absence must听be requested听before the end of the web withdrawal with refund deadline听of the term in which the request to go on leave is made; requests made past this deadline will be considered by the ISA Office's Director on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed. Please consult the 'Important Dates for Students' for further information.听

After the web withdrawal听with refund听deadline, students may withdraw themselves听without refund听up until the end of the withdrawal without refund deadline (see 'Important Dates'). After the withdrawal without refund deadline, students may request a late withdrawal without refund from the ISA (supporting documentation required).听

Access to Services During a Leave of Absence

1. Access to Student Services听Student Services听are only available to students currently enrolled in a program of study.听Services for students who are not currently enrolled (i.e. students on authorized leaves of absence) are limited to certain services mandated by government regulation and services that help a student transition back into or out of their studies (examples听include听connecting听a student听with services off-campus听and听government financial aid听or immigration听advising for students leaving or preparing for re-entry).听 Students on a LOA may NOT opt in听to the Student Services at 成人大片. If you will be on a LOA, you should contact any current service providers in Student Services (e.g. healthcare professionals) to confirm what off-campus services/resources are available/recommended for you.

2. Scholarships and Financial Aid听听Students who are eligible for scholarship renewal will not have scholarship money transferred to their account while they are on Leave, but will maintain eligibility for renewal upon registration in subsequent terms. Terms and conditions vary among loan and bursary providers; contact an advisor in听Scholarships and Student Aid听to discuss your individual situation.听

3. International Students听Contact听International Student Services (ISS)听to discuss your individual circumstances and the possible interaction with your immigration status and health insurance status.

Returning from a Leave of Absence

• Students should register for courses according to the normal 成人大片 deadlines (see听Important Dates) for the term following their Leave of Absence.
• Students in a B.Ed program only: If your leave was granted for personal health reasons, you are required to submit the "Return to Study-Healthcare Provider Approval Form".
• The Faculty of Education will change your status to 鈥渨ithdrawn鈥� after one year of approved Leave of Absence if you have not returned to the University. You will remain eligible to request听readmission.
