Professional Evaluation
The first step is to take the child's professional evaluation to the school principal who will develop a plan together with the school counsellor or psychologist. Whenever possible and appropriate, the support needed will be integrated in the regular classes.
While the language of schooling in Quebec is French, children with a serious learning disability may request to be allowed to study in English under a if deemed necessary by their medical provider. Requests shall be supported and documented by a psychoeducational evaluation. If the child meets the criteria, a will be issued.
