Specifically\, the approximation lemma due to Feller (see Lemma 1\, §VII.1\, Feller 1965) is used to motiva te the Bernstein polynomial density estimator. Further\, its generalizatio n to multivariate density estimation and adaptation to circular density es timation will be presented. The talk will conclude with a result connectin g the circular kernel density estimation with orthogonal polynomials on a unit circle and some illustrations.\n DTSTART:20170210T170000Z DTEND:20170210T180000Z LOCATION:Room LB-921-04\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3G 1M8\, Library Building C oncordia\, 1400 de Maisonneuve West SUMMARY:Dr. Y.P.
